This is a high visibility, high impact position in the Supply Chain Analytics and Lean Six Sigma team. The Senior Operations Research Analyst in this role will work as an internal consultant and change management agent evaluating complex supply chain processes, performing cost benefit analyses, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing optimized solutions for supply chain problems. The Senior Operations Research Analyst drives for results, project manages, communicates with all organizational levels, and is comfortable dealing with ambiguity at the initial stages of problem solving. In addition, the Senior Operations Research Analyst should be comfortable addressing the big picture and provide Leadership with directional guidance, including data analysis at a sufficiently detailed level to reach valid conclusions. Projects in our department are frequently not textbook Six Sigma, which requires applying the essence of the approach rather than a prescribed set of steps. The ideal practitioner is adaptable, a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and thinks outside of the box, applying the tools to a wide variety of situations.
  • AT&T provides the manager in this position intensive Lean Six Sigma training ( 4 weeks, face to face in Dallas). Therefore Lean Six Sigma background and experience is preferred but not required
  • Candidates located in Dallas are preferred but other locations will be considered.
  • Supply Chain experience and/or training is highly desirable.
  • Experience building decision support models (Operations Research solutions) and manipulating large data sets is preferred
  • Predictive analytics experieince and/or coursework preferred.
  • C andidate must demonstrate a track record of successful implementation of quantitative applications to solve business problems.
  • Excellent Excel and Access skills required, VBA preferred
  • A degree in Industrial Engineering , Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, or similar is preferred
