Our client needs an additional Accountant in their organization. The VP Corporate Controller is the top financial person in a small, privately held international company based in North Dallas. Mentorship and career development is critical to the VP Corporate Controller. This individual will be groomed for other internal opportunities, so there’s lots of visibility. Client’s contractual agreements to manufacture products can take approximately 3 to 6 months and there will be multiple projects at any given time. Also, the Sr. Project Accountant would be involved in variety of special projects. This position reports to VP Corporate Controller and would be the #2 accounting person in the organization. They are a very casual environment and the CFO/VP Corporate Controller is extremely fun and laid back.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly focused, self motivated, team player who enjoys working independently.

Applicant’s current/previous experience should include:
Project accounting, including percentage of completion revenue recognition
Preparation and analysis of standard and specialized financial statements and various other supporting schedules
Account analysis
Work with external auditors as required to provide support when requested
Preparation of fluctuation analyses
Balance sheet reconciliations
Management of fixed assets
Strong communication, organizational and customer service background

Applicant’s background should also include the following:
Accounting degree or equivalent experience
At least 3 years related, professional accounting and finance experience with some background in manufacturing, construction, or related industry
Strong GAAP knowledge
Working knowledge of Peachtree accounting software would be a plus
Strong, independent, confident self starter
Ability to work in a high energy, high volume, rapidly changing environment
Stable work background with increased levels of success and responsibility
Strong problem solving ability
Ability to multitask and manage multiple large to small projects in a cross functional environment
Strong knowledge and understanding of company dynamics
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present and explain information that establishes effective communication lines, persuades others and facilitates understanding
