A local firm in Akron
is looking for a Senior Project Technician that is an experienced systems
detailer with high competency and ability to work autonomously with minimal
technical supervision.
Position Requirements Include:
A 2-year
degree in Architecture or Civil Technology minimum (or equivalent
experience and competency as Project Technician II)
5 - 15
years experience in design and detailing of curtain wall / cladding
systems
Able
to design and lay-out deadload / windload connections
Able
to design anchor details Design for system movements due to thermal,
live-load and dead-load
Team Leader Responsibilities Include:
Interpreting
architectural/structural intent from contract documents
Recognizing
the budgeted time per task (i.e. per sheet or detail)
Checking
drawings against architectural/structural drawings * Make sure that
changes are carried out to all effected elevations and details
Determining
the order and layout of elevations in the shop drawings set making sure
elevations are dimensioned properly
Making
sure all parts are anchored/attached and anchorage is indicated on
elevations
Initiate
team meetings
Performing
final checks on all drawings
Consulting Responsibilities Include:
Fulfilling
the role of Staff Specialist
Interpreting
architectural/structural intent from contract documents while following
company or customer drafting standards
Reviewing/checking
drawings for technical content assisting in lay out of difficult geometric
areas of buildings
Checking
system for air/water integrity and determine appropriate sealant details
Designing
curtainwall systems based on customer's needs and contract documents
Determining
which project conditions should be considered during system design
Detailing Responsibilities Include:
Understanding
how to handle discrepancies in contract documents
Modifying
drawings as red-marked by another team member
Checking
own plot of drawings before giving them to the Team Leader or Project
Manager and marking in red anything that is in question
Giving
Team Leader updated drawings as they are done or revised
Drawing
elevations, plans and sections as directed by the Team Leader
Drawing
details as directed by the Team Leader (displaying a standard of
excellence in accuracy and precision)
Using
excellent practices to convey drawings using clear, concise presentation
Inputting
final tags on elevations while drawing individual fabrication drawings
Compensation: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour.
