Tw telecom is hiring for a Senior Network PNA for our Greenwood Village Network Operations Center. tw telecom is growing, vibrant telecommunication company, and we are growing our engineering team
As a Senior Network PNA for tw telecom , you will be responsible for the activation and optimization of transport and data circuits in support of the internal tw telecom network. Job functions are accomplished via order management, circuit provisioning, and circuit testing. Successful order fulfillment is measured through production, timeliness, quality, and customer focus standards for the department. Provides technical assistance as needed to less experienced team members.

Some major objectives to your success are:
Performs circuit provisioning through the cross-connection of SONET, TDM, and DWDM network equipment.
Performs Layer 2 provisioning through Ethernet switch network elements. Coordinate activation of new Layer 3 router interfaces with Tier II.
Coordinates remote testing activities with field operations, vendors, and business partners.
Demonstrates competence using the order management system to identify and complete work flow tasks. Responsible for on time order management in assigned markets, including verification of completion of all groomed or installed services, while maintaining minimal order backlog.
Prepare and implement grooms or to meet tw telecom’s customer maintenance window policies.
Manages complex circuit modification and high-risk re-provisioning of active customer services requiring coordination of activities with field personnel, internal Tier II groups, and external business partners.
Handle individual 1 st mgmt. level LEC/CLEC/IXC and internal tw telecom escalations
Performs work in all tw telecom markets, requiring a detailed knowledge of all tw telecom network transport and Ethernet equipment.
Responsible for review, audit, and approval of Scheduled Maintenance Activities.
Engages internal departments to identify process, system and implementation issues for the purpose of establishing common understanding and encouraging solutions
Inspects and extracts pertinent details in job aids, emails, bulletins and memorandums. Uses latest information to enhance methods and conform to best practices.
Demonstrates strong communication skills by engaging in: constructive dialog; writing concise reference documents and emails; and consistently entering complete and timely order notes.
Possesses and maintains a working understanding of tw telecom’s specific systems, processes and architecture.
Provide technical assistance as needed to less experienced team members
Operates effectively in a team environment by valuing each team member’s contribution, respecting each team member’s individuality, and following established methods to enhance team performance
Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the department standards of production, timeliness, customer satisfaction and quality are achieved.
Participates in a rotating on-call schedule.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified candidates will have at least:
College degree in Telecommunications or equivalent combination of applicable education and industry experience.
Transport Vendor specific training or certifications preferred
Cisco and/or Juniper specific certifications helpful
7 – 10 Years of Experience :
Provisioning or maintaining electrical transport services, specifically: DS3, DS1, DS0 facilities with no supervision
Provisioning and troubleshooting SONET and DWDM systems, specifically OC3 thru OC192 SONET Add/Drop multiplexers and DWDM systems with no supervision
Provisioning data services via Ethernet switches with minimal supervision
Utilizing digital, optical and SONET test sets and remote testing platforms (EXFO required)
Directing activities of remote field resources to coordinate installation, testing, or troubleshooting activities
Tracking network activities in maintenance ticketing or order management systems including: interpreting test results; reading and writing notes into tracking systems; recording testing results
Engaging business partners to coordinate testing, troubleshooting and activation of new services
Thorough knowledge of provisioning and troubleshooting of SONET and DWDM systems
Thorough knowledge of provisioning or maintaining electrical transport services: DS3, DS1, DS0 facilities
Knowledge of provisioning Ethernet services
Knowledge of Channel Service Units, Private Branch Exchanges (PBX), Manual Cross-Connect Panels (Bantam, DSX, Fiber), Wire Terminal Block (RJ21X or 66-Block), Common Jacks (RJ11,RJ45,RJJ48C, RJ48X)
Knowledge and understanding of network: records (CLR; DLR).
Excellent verbal and written skills
Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
Ability to build documents using Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to prioritize workload from task queues based on due dates
Thorough understanding of the service delivery process from end-to-end, including ordering, design, provisioning and post completion processes and or the maintenance process.
