As a Software Quality Engineer, you have the opportunity to accelerate the delivery and improve the quality of core Flickr features and APIs. You will be responsible for designing and implementing build & test infrastructure, as well as evaluating product quality for various internal and external projects. You will be part of an engineering team that is working on problems in a number of areas and your primary responsibility as a Software Quality Engineer will be to work with the development and test engineering teams to create new test harnesses, automate testing, implement new automation tools, and create innovative automated test systems.

What you'll do:
Build advanced automated test suites to exercise API, backend and frontend components
Work with the development and test engineering teams to automate testing
Conduct research on emerging technologies
Analyze complicated software system and design a strategy to test this system
Train and mentor other team members
You should have:
Experience automated and manual testing of applications
Experience testing high volume API systems
Experience in developing innovative solutions for automated testing strategies and quality assurance of our systems and products
Experience working with consumer facing web applications
Experience in improving tools for continuous integration, automated testing and release management
Experience with bug tracking software such as Mantis, Bugzilla, etc.
3+ years of overall testing and/or development experience as well as writing test plans and test cases
Proven ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable. You have a "killer instinct" to get things done. You motivate those around you by your own contribution, commitment to quality, professionalism, leadership and teamwork
Computer Science background (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience)
3+ years of relevant work experience, including development and/or test automation experience
Nice if you have:
Degree in computer science/math/physics
Excellent coding & scripting skills
Highly proficient in a Unix/Linux environment
Deep knowledge of Internet technologies
