Overview

A recruiter is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization and assists in promoting a strong employment brand and ensuring a positive candidate experience by creating a high touch environment. Develop and execute sourcing plans through the local and national recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. Builds and maintains relationships with clients to ensure staffing needs are met with regard to managing all sourcing, selection and hiring of talent through set metrics. Develops and executes robust recruiting strategies and communicates regularly with clients on process, status and feedback of all candidates. Maintain complete and accurate record-keeping details in compliance with federal and state requirements. A recruiter plays a critical role in ensuring the attraction and hiring of the best possible talent to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

Creates sourcing strategy for approved job and collaborates with hiring manager

Identifies external or internal candidates to fill new or vacant positions

Screens resumes, attends recruitment job fairs, school and/or community based recruitment events or other externally focused efforts

Sourcing activities may include creation of an internal and/or external job posting, employee referrals, website advertising or other sourcing methods

Interviews prospective employees for non-exempt and exempt positions

Assesses candidates to determine if their capabilities match the job requirements.

Conducts telephone-based or in-person interviews or administering pre-placement testing.

Reviews information gained about the candidate(s) and decides whether or not to interview candidate and recommend to hiring manager

Conducts debrief sessions with hiring manager to discuss candidate qualifications

Activities may include reviewing test data, interviewer's recommendations or leading/participating in selection decision-making meetings for internal teams.

Facilitates the placement of qualified candidates

Determines job offer to most qualified candidate

Discusses offer details with hiring manager

Partners with Compensation and HR, as needed

Prepares new hire offers and extends verbal offers

Negotiates offer to successful acceptance

Communicates final status with all candidates

Crafts and provides developmental feedback for internal candidates not selected

Rescinds offers as necessary in the event a pre-employment hurdle is not met

Develops recruiting tools and techniques to assist United in meeting staffing and placement needs

Maintains complete and accurate staffing documentation as required by law

Updates information in United's applicant tracking systems to ensure compliance and accuracy of metrics

Interfaces with Talent Acquisition Center, as appropriate, to process candidates and fill positions

Provides subject matter expertise in managing specific staffing vendors, such as websites, search firms and university contacts

Provides subject matter expertise in specific staffing and HR projects

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required.

Certification

PHR, SPHR, GPHR (Professional, Senior Professional, or Global Professional in Human Resouces) certification preferred.

Certification as a behavioral-based interviewer preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

Demonstrated good judgment and confidentiality required.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service orientation required.

Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly team-oriented environment required.

Excellent time management, follow-through and organizational skills required.

Strong communication and ability to build relationships with all levels of personnel required.

Strategic and forward-thinking skills required.

Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy and ability to delegate work, as needed, required.

Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and databases required.

Strong knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and demonstrated usage of sourcing tools such as LinkedIn required.

Ability to handle highly confidential information required.

Ability to build strong relationships and work in a team environment required.

Ability to quickly assess candidate's skills/qualifications and attributes and make placements/recommendations as appropriate required.

Ability to coach and council internal and external candidates on career development required.

Recruiting experience using Taleo or other applicant tracking systems (i.e. iCIMS) preferred.

Experience using HRIS platforms (i.e. PeopleSoft and/or COMPAS) preferred.

Demonstrated leadership ability to coach and counsel other recruiters on best practices and recruiting processes required.

Ability to work on special projects, in addition to typical recruiting workload, required.

Ability recruiting hard-to-fill positions utilizing various sourcing methods required.

Experience

5 or more years HR experience required.

3 or more years of dedicated recruiting experience required.

Combination of external search and corporate and/or field/operations staffing experience preferred.

Prior experience coordinating and attending career fairs preferred.

Prior experience in developing and giving presentations preferred.

Other

Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time.

Regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with United's policies is required.

Attendance is required at work location.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
