The Department of Surgery is seeking a Senior Research Specialist for the Islet Transplant Division. This position is a principle contributor in developing specific research project requirements and is responsible for all aspects of the project from the development through delivery.

Responsibilities include developing objectives and design of research and data collection procedures. Conduct and coordinate advanced research experiments. Develop and write advanced experimental protocols. Write papers, grants, and other documents for publication based on research findings. Guide, train, and advise lower level researchers and students on techniques, methods, and procedures.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science. Masters degree in Science is preferred. A minimum of 5 years related research experience. Possess and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, and methods. Proficient in specific lab research techniques. Experience in health care related research is preferred.
