What is the process after an application is submitted?
The following is our process when recruiting and hiring new team members: :
Applications are collected in the jobs inbox – please note we cannot respond to every application.
Our HR team reviews applications to identify qualified candidates.
Qualified candidates are invited to do a telephone screening.
The most qualified candidates will be invited to an in-person interview. Common Sense typically conducts 2 to 3 rounds of in-person interviews in the hiring process.
References will be solicited from our final candidates. (Please note that some positions will require additional background checks.)
A formal written job offer will be made to our top final candidate.

Video Editor/ Motion Graphics Designer
We are seeking a creative and experienced Video Editor/Motion Graphics Designer to edit motion graphic explainer and promotional videos as well as how-to tip and documentary style videos for Common Sense Media’s website, Mobile App, YouTube Channel and Video-On-Demand audiences.
Reporting to the CEO, and serving as an integral member of the senior team, the Vice President (VP), Communications will develop a world-class communications plan for Common Sense Media, directly managing communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization's brand and reputation. The VP, Communications will be responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of public relations activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership. The goal is to advance the organization's position with relevant constituents, as well as to drive broader awareness and donor support for the organization.
Education Content Producer
We are seeking a creative and dynamic team member for the Common Sense Education digital learning team. Our mission revolves around helping kids become tech-savvy learners, and we do so by helping K-12 schools and educators harness technology for learning. As the Education Content Producer, you will be assisting in the conceptualization, development, and design of our education products and programmatic initiatives, from start to finish, to support our community of over 150,000 (and growing!) educators.
Education Marketing and CRM Manager
We are seeking an innovative and digitally savvy marketing professional to join the Common Sense Education marketing team. The Education Marketing and CRM Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager, Education Marketing will manage Common Sense Education’s voice in the edtech community. This content-driven individual will be responsible for growing and engaging Common Sense Education’s community of teachers, library media specialists, technology integration specialists, app/game publishers and other edtech industry professionals through social media, online community programs, email newsletters, and other CRM programs.
Senior SEO/SEM Consultant
We are looking for a 25 hour/month Senior SEO Consultant to help us continue to keep our websites at the top of organic search results, help us implement schema.org tagging, suggest new initiatives to improve rankings, and keep us abreast of the latest developments in the field.
Common Sense Media has an opportunity for an experienced Drupal developer at a competitive salary. You would join a team of 7 Drupal developers and report directly to the CTO who also heads the 8-member Product/creative team.

The Communications department intern will be responsible for assisting the Communications department with general media relations duties and short-term administrative projects, and will function as part of a corporate-level communications team focusing on national press outreach. The intern will work 16-24 hours a week and will report to the Communications Coordinator.
