Fire Drills - Perform quarterly fire drill to ensure compliance with JCAHO, NFPA, And OSHA requirements. Inspect/Surveys - Inspect fire extinguishers monthly, conduct building surveys weekly or whenever needed. Safety Training - Conduct fire safety and hazardous communication for new employees. Annual training per department request. Chemical Waste Disposal - Initiates appropriate action to dispose of hazardous waste. Related Duties - Maintains safety data, interface with staff and outside agencies to investigate and mitigate safety and health related issues.
Knowledge and Skills:
Associates Degree or combination of education and experience in Occupational Safety and Health. E
xpertise in OSHA's General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910.
Strong background and expertise in Fire Safety including NFPA, and OSHA regulations.
Good working knowledge of the JCAHO Environment of Care Safety standards
Years of Experience:
Ten years or more of professional Occupational Safety within a large hospital environment.
