Accomplished cellular immunologist who will make substantial contributions to the conception and execution new therapeutic approaches to autoimmune diseases in a highly collaborative environment. A primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to develop and execute research strategies to improve understanding of underlying mechanism of costimulation in autoimmune disease (RA / CD / Psoraisis / SLE) with the aim of identifying and validating new targets for protein therapeutic intervention. He/She will be responsible for collaborating to generate in vitro / cellular / in vivo data packages supporting preclinical PoC. The candidate will leverage expertise to develop and implement research to gain a detailed mechanistic understanding of the molecular pharmacology of new targets. In addition, it is expected that the candidate will utilize his/her expertise to generate internal and external collaborations as necessary to further program goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving costimulation biology research in a multidisciplinary team in an exciting, fast-paced team environment.
PhD in molecular / cellular immunology or related field with significant research experience as demonstrated by track record of publications and scientific accomplishments is required. Strong scientific expertise in immune cell biology (T/Bcell / Myeloid / Dendritic cell) and detailed understanding of molecular underpinnings of costimulation biology required. Detailed knowledge of the molecular approaches for application to cellular biology studies and ability to utilize such tools and approaches for mechanism-of-action studies needed. Hands on experience in antibody engineering a plus.
Highly developed communication skills and keen ability to engage internal and external scientific leaders in collaborative research.
PhD and 0-3+ years of experience required to ensure that incumbent has necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to do the job.
