Position Title: Senior Shopper Insights Analyst
Location: Salisbury, NC
The Shopper Insights Senior Analyst is an important Shopper Insights role that interfaces with multiple teams at various levels of leadership within the Delhaize America organization. The Senior Analyst executes and helps direct a wide range of analysis by applying highly technical analytic methodologies and knowledge to a broad range of opportunities that leverage both frequent shopper card, transaction, and rest of market data. The Senior Analyst also plays a major role in the execution of insights resulting from the analysis and also provides guidance to other analysts in the group from a position of experience. As a key influencer of shopper strategy, it is critical that the Shopper Insights Senior Analyst aligns with his/her manager when advising key decision makers in the Banner, Marketing, and Category leadership.
-- Lead the design, development and delivery of timely and error-free reports to Delhaize America.
-- Incorporate Delhaize America transaction and loyalty card data into collaborative business plans.
-- Highly technical individual responsible for generation, creation and delivery of detailed shopper insights reporting to support all levels of Category Management, Merchandising, Marketing, and Retail Operations in areas such as Trip Mission analysis, New Item analysis, Trial & Repeat analysis, Sales Sourcing Analysis, Loyalty & Exclusivity, and Business Reviews.
-- Work with a wide variety of Delhaize America internal systems (MicroStrategy, POS, and SiP), syndicated data systems and proprietary vendor provided systems such as Vendor Pulse to generate meaningful recommendations and insights regarding customers and store groups that drive an increase in sales and revenue.
-- Champion quantitative and strategic analyses that define and improve highly visible deliverables within Delhaize America.
-- Help drive the innovation and execution of the Shopper Insights Portal (SiP) and business evaluation practices used to determine success of strategic and tactical initiatives and projects resulting from the program.
-- Provide project leadership and mentorship to junior analysts within the team and other analytics departments in the organziation.
-- Establish and maintain working relationships Delhaize America partners to facilitate ongoing support and collaboration.
-- Develop project scope, data extraction methodologies, design of experiments, logic of data cleansing, exploratory data analysis and statistical methods as needed to support analyses.
-- Plan, execute and measure controlled experiments at the store and household level.
-- Simultaneously support and lead multiple projects with varying scopes and business owners.
-- Develop meaningful and actionable scorecards and dashboards.
-- Stay informed on evolving industry practices and ideas.
-- BA/BS Degree required
-- Preferred disciplines of study include Finance, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or other quantitative science
-- MBA or MS preferred.
--5-7 years business experience, with emphasis on marketing or financial analysis, data mining, or database marketing/analytics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, SAS, and other data analysis systems
-- Must possess willingness and aptitude to learn new systems and software.
-- Experience using statistical programming software such as SAS is strongly desired.
-- Proactive team player capable of working with multiple departments across a variety of leadership and functional areas with varying levels of expertise.
-- Must have the ability to explain complex analysis in a straightforward manner to a wide audience comprised of different knowledge levels using various methods of delivery such as written, presentation, and through oral communication.

-- Ability to synthesize large quantities of data into actionable, meaningful and insightful reports, recommendations, and tactical insights for various business partners.
