As part of the High Performance Embedded Computing team (HPEC), you will w ork with new tools and operating systemsand be accountable for all aspects of software development activities including scoping, designing, coding, debugging, testing, documenting, and maintenance.

Demonstrate your strong interest in network protocols and digital design, including high speed design, as well as an ability to learn and work with industry leading CPU and graphics technologies. You are a logical, disciplined thinker and can easily make good decisions regarding priorities. Showcase your strong programming skills while you drive and solve technical issues independently and with your team.

  • Develop software for products, particularly interprocessor communication, board support packages, and device drivers
  • Contribute to software procedures, software user’s manuals and software release notes
  • Produce and maintain common “look and feel” software
  • Interface with hardware development and DVT teams
  • Manage change requests assigned and proactively create change requests when problems are discovered
  • Report weekly on status to the Product Development Manager
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date schedules for tasks assigned regularly
  • Travel to customer sites and training facilities as required
  • A minimum of eight years software development experience using C and/or assembler
  • Prior experience developing embedded software for single board computers
  • Previous experience with tools for the debug of board level products
  • Prior experience with scaling software to large systems and providing fault tolerance
  • Prior experience with designing and implementing network protocols as might be used in interprocessor communication
  • Experience with Power PC and Intel microprocessors would be preferred
  • Experience with Linux and VxWorks
  • Experience with integrated development environment tools
  • Prior experience developing requirements, design and test documentation
  • Knowledge of industry standard bus architectures such as VME, PCI, VPX, PCI Express, and Serial Rapid IO
  • A working knowledge of CMM/CMMI/SEI is desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
