A new life awaits you in the off-world colonies! A chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure!
Couchbase is seeking qualified candidates (who pass a Voight-Kampff test -- sorry no replicants) to take Couchbase Mobile to the next level. We’re looking for a senior development engineer who is passionate about helping us expand and advance our Couchbase Mobile product. Work on back end and device software to enhance our product offering and extend our lead in the mobile database space.
Responsibilities (Contribution/Learning Opportunities):
Couchbase Lite (formally TouchDB) for Android needs an energetic champion, so that would be your first big project. This is a port of the Objective-C implementation. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Android platform specific APIs, and be comfortable working in both the Android and iOS development environments.
A significant part of this project is our Sync Gateway, connecting Couchbase Lite to Couchbase Server in the cloud. Today this is written in Go, as we integrate it more closely with Couchbase Server, you'll have the opportunity to write C, Erlang, and who knows what else.
Testing these distributed systems is not easy. We might even hire a replicant if you are gung-ho about testing mobile.

Significant experience in the development of software for mobile networks, distributed systems over carrier networks and/or the OS network stack for mobile phones
