The Senior Solutions Analyst possessing strong data and SQL Server acumen performs with minimal direction a variety of roles in the creation and maintenance of large enterprise wide/global complex solutions (including creating and designing data infrastructure, database tuning, data transformations, and data automation) that address the informational and analytical needs of the Investment Management, Investment Research, or other Investment Front Office members. These roles stem from all phases of the project lifecycle and include research, requirements gathering, database solution design, database solution recommendation, database development, and database system testing. The Senior Solutions Analyst acts as a consultant and partner with the Investment Business Community, Global Investment and Institutional Client Services (GICS), and Global Business Solutions and Technology (GBS&T) project teams to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and executed upon.


Designs, implements, and maintains optimal SQL Server solutions that address business needs and achieve enterprise wide/global strategic goals that includes analyzing, researching, processing and administering investment data.

Works closely with and leads Investment Front Office team of SQL Server resources to better understand business data solutions in order to design and maintain optimal and extendable data solutions. Provides consultancy and advice on design, applicability, commonality, and usability of SQL database solutions across the Investment Front Office team.

Regularly and independently interacts with business partners of varying associate/management levels to ensure clarity of the problem/opportunity and elicit business data needs. Estimates the size of the effort required to complete complex enterprise wide/global scale database solutions.

Reviews requirements for multiple projects and ensures that database solutions are consistent and fall within the standards of the Investment Front Office SQL Server solutions.

Continuously seeks to expand knowledge of Investments practice and theory to create efficiencies and/or mitigate risk via people/process/technology changes for the business.


College degree and 4 years of related work experience, or
Associate degree and 6 years related work experience, or
High School diploma/equivalent and 8 years related work experience
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2008 preferred)
Strong knowledge of relational databases and concepts
Strong SQL skills
ETL development experience (Informatica preferred)
Experience with Reference Data financial information such as Fixed Income, Equity, and Derivatives preferred
Eight years of relevant experience working with solutions lifecycle development methodology preferred
Demonstrated advanced analytical and problem solving skills
Must be able to meet with Investment Operations clients of varying levels to gather, document, and analyze system specifications and requirements, work closely with developers and testers in the fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with others in team environment
Possesses ability to use effective facilitation skills and techniques to effectively influence with clients at various levels in the organization
Possesses effective influencing and negotiating skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to manage change and cope with complex and ambiguous situations
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Is experienced in practical application development and/or client solution delivery
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Prior experience in the Financial Services Industry preferred
Ability to master complex tasks with minimal supervision
Demonstrated experience providing estimation for moderate to complex efforts
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Adaptable and able to learn quickly

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum 5-7 years professional experience in an analytical position involving data management and collection, modeling and interpretation across complex data sets.
Built or worked on financial datasets including Security Master
Programming skills (scripting, .Net applications)
Strong understanding of basic Investment Management principles preferred
