The Senior Solutions Architect is a Senior Manager at NTT DATA who manages the Cisco and Network Solutions Team within the Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) practice. This high-visibility position bears responsibility for overall design and architecture of customer solutions, as well as direct management of local and remote personnel. This individual must be able to "jump in" and resolve escalated technical issues in a hands-on manner, and have intimate familiarity with Cisco voice and networking technologies. Writing skills (both qualitative and quantitative) are essential, as development and delivery of pre-sales presentations, proposals, SOWs, and marketing collateral development are daily activities.
The ideal candidate has great people skills, documentation skills, and mastery of the following technical disciplines:
IP Telephony – Cisco Call Manager/Unity/Contact Center, Cisco Servers, Strategic Call Center Design, Wide Area Networking Technologies, E911, Quality of Service, Avaya, Asterisk
Networking/Security – Cisco Routers/Switches, Nexus Technology, SAN Switching, Wireless, Firewalls, Load-Balancing, IDS/IPS, Network Monitoring, Packet Sniffing and Protocol/Traffic Analysis
Additionally, preferred candidates should also have hands-on strengths in at least two of the following areas with a strong desire to ultimately become proficient in analysis and pre-sales support for all of the areas below:
Data Centers – Physical Wiring Plant, Patch Panel Design, Rack Assemblies, Power Management, HVAC/Cooling, Physical Security
Video Conferencing – PolyCom Solutions, Cisco Solutions, Bandwidth Management
IT Strategy – Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity, ITIL Consulting, COBIT, ISO 20000, IT Management, Business Service Management, Capacity Planning, IT Governance
Servers – Windows, VMware, Citrix, AIX, Linux, Exchange, Hyper V, IIS, Apache Web Server, Tomcat, Active Directory, SAN, SQL Server, Oracle, Backup Strategy and Execution), Perl/VBScript/PowerShell Scripting
Cloud Computing – Hosted Voice Solutions, Lync Online, IaaS (Amazon, Rackspace, etc.), PaaS, SaaS (Office 365, Salesforce, etc.)
Candidate must be comfortable presenting to and advising senior IT management personnel and C-level executives of small-to-midsize organizations. They must also be able to mentor engineers, and work with other architects and project managers. Ability to effectively manage time and work independently is a must. Must be willing and able to do technical designs, proposals, and configurations as needed.
This is a challenging but rewarding consulting position that will expose the candidate to a broad spectrum of design, implementation, and support of IT technology, process, and resources. We seek someone who is able to handle multiple responsibilities and who genuinely enjoys the challenge of doing/learning different things as needed. Key responsibilities include:
Manage a team of network engineers and architects as well as occasional third party contractors (2-5 FTEs)
Maintain NTT DATA's Cisco partnership and certification levels, acting as key point of contact for the Cisco channel representatives
Deploy and support Cisco networking and voice technology in a hands-on manner
Lead the definition and design of Cisco-based Routing, Security and Voice solutions
Lead the definition and design of fault-tolerant application/enterprise infrastructure – e.g. load-balancing, block replication, clustering, log shipping, etc.
Lead the definition and design of IT processes and procedures, aligned with industry best practices and ITIL v3 – e.g. change management, incident management, configuration management (CMDB)
Lead the development and deployment of technical Statements of Work (SOWs) and proposals
Perform complete technical and strategic assessments of small, mid-sized, and large IT organizations
Manage relationships with partners involved in the delivery of services
Participate in Project Planning and Design Work sessions as needed as a senior consultant
Act as technical lead and project manager on complex technology deployments, mentoring and guiding engineers assigned to the project
Support monitoring and systems/network management of managed technology services customers
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor
Experience in IT
Strong subject matter expertise in areas of specialty
Strong aptitude and the ability to pick up new technologies quickly, adapting to the changing market
Must be able to demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills.
Must be able to demonstrate strong business consultative skills
Strong client facing skills
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to travel on a limited basis, less than 50% over 12 months, and typically less than 20%
Minimum of 8 years experience in IT
7 years consulting background
Basic Cisco certification required (CCNA, CCDA)
Advanced Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCDP, CCVP, CCSP, CCIE and partner certs) highly valued
Technical degrees are desirable
