The Senior Staff Engineer / Technologist will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop Joining processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:
Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of joining projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements

Lead business initiatives in design, materials, manufacturing, quality and/or productivity for joining processes

Define and develop product processes related to joining process design, analysis, test, materials, manufacture, quality and/or productivity

Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization

Lead technical reviews and participate as a reviewer

Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate

Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitments

Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering position

Desired Characteristics

Demonstrated performance in the field of joining technology

Strong background in metals joining processes, especially in aerospace materials

Experience with solid state joining processes such as inertia, linear friction, and resistance welding

Ability to guide and influence others

In-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools

Strong written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
