The purpose of the Consumer Understanding & Insights (CU&I) Senior Statistician is to apply advanced statistical techniques to address key corporate issues. This position will influence business decisions through proactive statistical consulting and applied statistics. In addition, he/she will demonstrate a broader 1-team mindset and behavior, linking across CU&I and key business areas.
Essential Functions Include:
Consulting with business partners in all areas of the company to understand their needs and providing thought leadership and perspective around appropriate statistical analyses
Developing models to help determine the pricing of products to optimize revenue and profit
Designing and analyzing experiments at retail to quantify program impacts and reduce business risk
Conducting regression and segmentation analyses to enhance item, product line, and total store performance
Generating and applying creative statistical solutions to complex business problems
Building statistical models to help explain or predict consumer behavior
Translating statistical output into user-friendly, tangible business recommendations for business partners
Actively participating and sometimes leading CU&I’s efforts to address key initiatives around complex business issues
Broadening and/or deepening knowledge of state-of-the-art practices, statistical techniques and tools.
Continuing to develop self and offering direction and guidance on statistical techniques and concepts to other analysts
