Provide routine maintenance of the NBC Sports Group computer desktop environment by analyzing and resolving computer hardware & software issues, installing hardware and software and supporting local and remote NBC Sports Group users. Tasks include general end user support and performing hardware/software maintenance, upgrades and configurations.
Candidates will need to possess good knowledge of the broadcast industry, excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure and to creatively diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
Primary responsibility is end user support and customer service.
Follow standard Helpdesk operating procedures; accurately log and resolve all tickets using ticket tracking software.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with PC’s, laptops, network, local servers, printers, remote access and file shares.
High level of experience with Apple OS X, Microsoft Windows (desktop/server); Linux/Unix a plus
Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically
Log all help desk interactions - administer help desk software
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention - redirect problems to appropriate technical resources
Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
Become familiar with each sports department and their respective applications.
Learn fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least four (4) years of IT analyst experience.
Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
Ability to utilize the applications for Microsoft Office for support, reporting and documentation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to provide technical support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.
Good problem solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, be able to multitask effectively during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
Creativity. Ability to work around problems and come up with creative solutions.
Ability to work with or without direct supervision.
Some travel within U.S. on Sports Remotes on an as needed basis
