This is a second shift position and offers a shift premium. The schedule is Monday-Friday 3:00 PM-12:00 AM. This position has a strong potential to be hired as a FTE by client for the right candidate.
The RTP Metrology group provides calibration services on a wide range of instrumentation devices. We are the first line of defense when it comes to process or instrument related problems.
The Sr Technician II, Calibration/Instrumentation performs corrective and preventative calibrations on critical and non-critical instrumentation, supports manufacturing and laboratory personnel in the use, maintenance and repair of on-site instrumentation and test equipment, coordinates on-site and off-site vendor/contractor actions related to the calibration and repair of critical and non-critical instrumentation, and provides technical training to junior personnel, as well as backup to the Sr Technician III as required.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Performs scheduled calibrations (55%)
Performs unscheduled corrective calibrations and repairs (20%)
Assist junior personnel in the completion of scheduled and corrective calibrations (5%)
Author changes to procedures, instrumentation and job plans, Installs new instrumentation, provides engineering support, investigates problematic equipment failures, and provides validation support (20%)
The successful candidate will follow Metrology SOPs and job plans in the completion of scheduled calibrations and PM's, investigate instrumentation failures and implement changes to avoid future occurrences, as well as review SOPs and job plans for correctness and safety issues (generating changes as needed). The work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
A minimum of 3 years related experience in a Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech environment
Practical knowledge and application of GMPs and EMEA regulations
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and MS Project
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work rotating shifts extended shifts and weekends
Experience programming in Allen Bradley PLC environments (strongly desired)
Two year certificate from a college or technical school with an emphasis in Electronics/Instrumentation, AND a minimum of 3 years related experience and/ or training
