As a result of our continued expansion and achievements we are looking to add support personnel. We are now searching for a proven professional to fill the role of Senior Technical Services Consultant in our market.
The primary role of the Senior Technical Services Consultant is to provide support to the franchise network in all aspects of production. This support includes everything from design to output to finishing. This role also involves interaction with vendors and assisting the Training Department with tech-related courses. Travel is required for franchise visits, trade shows, vendor visits, as needed, and international travel may be required.
The ideal Senior Technical Services Consultant will have a college degree in a related field of study or equivalent technical experience in a relevant position; a minimum of five years experience in the sign or graphics industry; computer literacy (PC required, MAC desired) and competency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Onyx RIP software is required; and experience with routers and engravers, is desired. In addition, he/she must possess effective presentation and oral communication skills, as well as proficient written skills, and project a professional demeanor at all times.
The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
-- Evaluates all equipment, software, hardware and media that is recommended to centers worldwide
-- Provide thorough, unbiased evaluations of items such as large format printers using solvent, latex, dye-sublimation, aqueous, and UV Curable solutions
-- Evaluate heat transfer devices, laminators, routers, engravers, flatbed cutters, desktop computers, design with output software and a wide range of print media
-- Meet with vendors, manufacturers or distributors and discuss ways they can provide products and services to our network adding value. These meetings may take place at our headquarters, at their location or during trade shows.
-- Be the primary contact for industry knowledge of equipment and consumables to the sign industry
-- Solid understanding and experience of the breadth of these products and vendors
-- Responsible to update and maintain documentation on available options and vendor support
-- Attend major industry trade shows in order to keep abreast of the latest in technology for digital signage, wide format printing, and finishing
-- Prepare and present post show report on observations, trends and recommendations
-- Evaluate when new products should be introduced to the FASTSIGNS network and assist with product rollouts as needed
-- Teaches industry specific courses that relate to design, output and finishing of products in a manner that FASTSIGNS recommends
Franchise Partner Network Support
-- Responsible to maintain and enhance the technical relationship to the network by monitoring and responding to requests through the Help Desk
-- Updates and maintains current information through established web tools and programs
-- Responsible to evaluate workflow procedures to improve efficiency
-- Help resolve issues with equipment we support, defining error codes, suggesting an appropriate course of action
-- Troubleshoot common issues related to image quality or color management, this may include getting the vendor or manufacturer involved
-- Troubleshoot common issues with the supported software in our centers including: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Onyx RIP software
-- Complete other projects as determined by Manager of Technical Services.
