Job Title: Sr Technician, Product Support/Repair (Respiratory)

CareFusion Business Description

Our family of ventilation devices including brands like AVEA®, Pulmonetic Systems™ and SensorMedics® diagnostic systems, helps provide safer ventilation and helps to protect patients from ventilator-associated pneumonia.


The Sr Technician, Product Support/Repair is accountable for:
Independently provide efficient and effective field services to all customers in a timely manner, including, but not limited to, installations, training, in-servicing, repair, preventative maintenance, calibration and sales support.
Promote and produce the sale of service contracts, upgrades, parts, and billable labor revenue in accordance with established goals and guidelines.
Maintain proper and accurate inventory for the purpose of service and follow approved policies and procedures for Inventory Controls.
Provide accurate and timely documentation that details field activity, expenses, time distribution and other information as required.
Continue training and self-development to learn the products and applications of the Company.
Will also attend management approved seminars and training sessions as required.
Maintain company assets (car, tools and inventories) securely and in working order.
Working knowledge of Corporate and Service Department procedures and policies, including customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting.
Work from home office with daily travel to customer sites in the NYC boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Bronx) and Long Island territory. Some weekend work required. Company vehicle provided.
Job Family Summary

Product Support/Repair-Field and Depot is responsible for troubleshooting technical problems, diagnosing, analyzing and/or repairing products.

What is expected of you for success in your role

Demonstrates specialized knowledge of systems and products and how they are used in customers' businesses
Diagnoses and corrects advanced system issues
Coordinates problem resolution and escalation process
Documents system and device resolution techniques for the benefit of the team

Bachelor's degree or at least 6 years of related work experience

Minimum of 6 years IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications.

Prior experience working on ventilators and respiratory diagnostic products a plus.
Biomedical background and familiarity with anatomy and physiology terminology required.

Excellent computer and time management skills required.

Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems in a logical manner using both phone and direct communications with the client.

Driving requirements dictate that the candidate posses and maintain a valid driver license and be at least 21 years old

Must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox) Annual TB/PPD (skin test), Tetanus/Diphteria/Pertussis.
