In this role, you will participating in establishing the product test and integrated manufacturing strategy for Silver Spring Networks product lines. Working with the Development Engineers and New Product Introduction and Manufacturing Engineers, you will establish and implement integrated product manufacturing and test plans, and develop and document the necessary test SW tools, software, hardware and procedures to ensure full test coverage of all SSN hardware products.
Execute the main functional areas of Manufacturing Test Development, Test SW development, manufacturing SW tools development, Test Engineering and other key areas of integrated manufacturing and test engineering.
Conceive, develop, and execute Silver Spring Networks functional test, AOI, ICT, and other tests and integrated inspection requirements to insure 100% test coverage of all hardware products.
Conceive, develop and execute SSN’s manufacturing SW tools utilized for integrated network and energy management products in worldwide manufacturing facilities
Define, develop, and implement the equipment, testing methods, and procedures (MPIs) for each test.
Continuously refine and improve test equipment, methods, and metrics to reduce product cost and increase test coverage and outgoing quality levels.
Identify, analyze, and initiate corrective action when product design failures are uncovered by the test process.
Partner with Product Development and NPI Engineers to define and implement a Design for Testability strategy and set of guidelines. Evaluate and recommend opportunities for hardware and firmware BIST.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on capability and will develop and manage test systems for new and existing products. The position requires an independent self-starter who can multi-task across projects, manage to tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Contribute to the hardware engineering culture by actively participating in the evolution of best practices, tools and processes.
The successful candidate will have experience in a time sensitive environment, and will be adept at risk assessment and test prioritization.
BSEE or BSCS with analog and digital systems background. MSEE preferred.
10+ years of RF or mixed RF product functional test system development.
Minimum 2 years’ experience developing manufacturing test software using programming languages such as “C” or C#, including demonstrated experience in production test application programming.
High volume RF product test experience a must.
Working level knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
High volume SMT and product manufacturing experience a must.
Proven track record of developing test and integrated manufacturing plans - from engineering specifications, product marketing documents, design reviews and presentations.
Proven ability to lead, grow, and develop in a fast paced manufacturing test development and engineering team.
Experience with lab/test equipment: Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, RF and data communications test sets
Experience with Linux-based systems, including writing Linux shell scripts
Familiarity with Perl &/or other scripting tools.
Familiarity with database development/maintenance.
Experience with Microsoft VC++ or other comparable software tools.
Experience with board level test fixture development and maintenance
Able to work with Engineering to resolve issues with test results.
Must have ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
