The Usability Center of Excellence Team in Chevron is currently accepting applications for a Senior UX/Usability Analyst through October 3, 2013 at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time.

LOCATION:
The successful candidate will be based in Concord, CA and will travel to our San Ramon HQ location as needed to work with project teams. There is a possibility of relocation from Concord, CA to Houston, TX in late 2014 as we will be establishing a team presence in our Houston HQ location. Candidates interested in relocating to Houston (late 2014) are encouraged to apply.

    Position Details:
    RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Engaging with project teams to scope out the usability effort, determine demand for resources and assisting with sourcing internally or externally as needed.
  • Overseeing the usability effort throughout the application development lifecycle, and providing recommendations to ensure a usable solution is delivered
  • Coaching peers (Business Analysts, Designers, Developers) on applying UX best practices - user research, persona development, testing, wire framing, prototyping, design
  • Leading and/or participating in user research and usability testing to help improve the user experience
  • Communicating UX designs to internal stakeholders to get buy-in, feedback, and negotiate trade-offs
  • Promoting user-centered design culture
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our guidelines, standards, and user-centered design processes and ensuring that they are integrated into the product development lifecycle

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years experience in application development and delivery; experience working in the energy sector is a plus
  • 3+ years experience as a UX/UI designer, human factors engineer or comparable roles across a variety of technologies (custom as well as 3rd party software)
  • Experience with wireframe prototyping tools such as Axure, Sketchflow or Balsamiq, or equivalents
  • Proficient in various research and design techniques such as qualitative research methods, personas, usability testing, wireframing, prototyping, design
  • Competent in information visualization; working knowledge of information architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change
  • Experience working in an agile development cycle
  • Fluency in core business processes (e.g., HR, Finance, etc.)
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills
  • Show an online portfolio of recent UI and UX work

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, or related field preferred
  • CUA Certification
