The Senior Underwriting Consultant will divide time between Underwriting production and high level departmental support.
Primary job responsibilities include:
Analyzing individual risk evidence to assess insurability within our suite of financial protection products
Departmental Subject Matter Expert related to Risk Guidelines, Process and Procedures, and other departmental reference materials
Represent Evidence of Insurability Department within larger organization
Maintenance of Risk Guidelines and P&Pâ€™s including identification and recommendation of required changes
Workflow system expert
Partner with training manager to create content for use within and outside the department
Perform quality audits.
Departmental technology liaison
Including identification of business requirements and test plans as needed.
Create and maintain management production reports
Bachelorâ€™s degree or equivalent related work experience
5+ years of experience Underwriting Individual and/or Evidence of Insurability
10+ years of risk based analysis experience
An intermediate level of proficiency with MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint
Superior oral and written communication skills
Must be organized, detail oriented and able to translate big picture ideas into departmental objectives and tactics
Experience identifying and recommending process improvements
Demonstrated ability effectively managing multiple streams of work
Project management experience
