DESCRIPTION

The Service/Rebuild Technician performs various assignments in maintenance, start-ups & repairs on heavy equipment. Must be familiar with specifications for testing, and operation of equipment. Will consult with engineers to resolve problems and/or to provide recommendations for improvements of equipment design or operation. The Technician will need to be able to perform heavy duty mechanical work involving primarily the assembling of heavy (up to 60 lbs.) equipment including but not limited to, portable delimber/debarker, combination delimber/debarker/chippers with loaders, recyclers (hogs), blow trucks, etc. for heavy equipment manufacturing.

  • Must be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blue prints and electrical schematics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 4 years, heavy equipment mechanic, assembler of heavy equipment or related experience.
  • Electrical and Hydraulics previous experience preferred.
  • Proven mechanical skills in the assembly and alignment of component sheaves, installation of bearings, and the hook up of air systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge on the installation of hydraulic pumps, motors, tanks, gear boxes and plumbing.
  • Detail oriented, demonstrated high level of accuracy and to work safely.
  • Proven ability to read and understand blueprints and BOMs, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Overhead crane and forklift skills required.
  • Must be able to skillfully troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems.
