We are looking for this Service Reliability Engineer to come on board in Recommind's San Francisco office.

Triage, debug and resolve production application failures and performance problems through analysis of application and server logs, system metrics and other diagnostics

Provide Level 2 support for production issues

Package diagnostics and analysis for Level 3 escalation to Engineering

Perform root cause analysis including remedial actions required to prevent recurrence

Provide knowledge transfer, training documentation to level1 staff enabling them to be more self-sufficient

Develop tools to enable more efficient/effective response to and resolution of production problems

3 years experience in resolving complex production problems for a cloud/saas application service preferably with E-Discovery or Search

3 years experience in providing Level 2 support for a cloud/saas application service preferably with E-Discovery or Search

3 years experience with troubleshooting OS-related issues in Window or Unix environment including use of Performance Monitor (PerfMon) and Process Explorer or their Unix equivalents

3 years experience in scripting with Ruby/JRuby, Python or Perl

Strong generalist skills in debugging operating infrastructure issues that may be server, network or storage-related

Strong working knowledge with XML

Experience with Tomcat configuration, monitoring, management and optimization

Working knowledge of Active Directory and/or LDAP

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new applications

Strong Problem-Solver/Trouble-Shooter

Methodical, Systematic, Thorough

Good Communication Skills

Computer science degree is preferred

Working knowledge of Splunk is preferred

Experience with Java profiling tools (JConsole, VisualVM, YourKit, logging and monitoring tools (Log4j, JMX) synthetic load generation tools (JMeter, Selenium) is preferred

Experience with Java stack tuning and debugging including garbage collection, core dump analysis, is preferred

Experience with virtualization technologies is preferred

QA Experience preferably with test automation is preferred

Working knowledge of Citrix and debugging Citrix issues is preferred
