SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE – ANTEPARTUM FETAL TESTING UNIT (SISTERS OF CHARITY HOSPITAL ): The service representative for the antepartum fetal testing unit performs receptionist and clerical functions including appointment scheduling, billing, coding, chart maintenance and ordering supplies.

REPORTS TO: Coordinator, Ob/Gyn Services

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

Educational Requirements

· Associates Degree or certificate of completion of medical secretarial training course

Experience Requirements

· 1-2 years previous medical office experience

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

· Ability to meet all secretarial demands;

· Courteous telephone etiquette;

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

· Sensitive to the needs of patients;

· Knowledge of medical terminology;

· Knowledge of third party payer, ICD-9, and CPT-4 coding;

· Knowledge of office equipment, including computer experience;

· Ability to work independently.
