The role of the Shift Lead is to drive the company’s key performance indicators by delivering an exceptional customer store experience through the
Associates they supervise.
• Demonstrate sales leadership by setting the example to all members of the selling team, reinforcing the selling culture
• Communicate clear expectations and hold the store team and themselves accountable to achieving all brand, performance and behavior
• Lead and inspire a customer service culture by recognizing and rewarding team
• Manage peers professionally while building effective relationships with store management team
• Proactively seek personal learning and development opportunities
People Development
• Train and motivate sales team to create a customer focused environment
• Recognize customer service issues in a timely manner and partner with Store Manager to develop action plans for resolution
Visual Merchandising
• Ensure proper merchandise presentations are maintained
• Execute any merchandising needs as directed by store management
Drive for Results
• Partner with Store Management team in the execution of the store business plan that drive KPI results and maximizes business
• Assign specific goals to sales and stock associates as outlined by store management team
• Drive AE brand loyalty through demonstrating sales leadership, coaching and connecting with the customer experience
• Maintain all operational standards to secure the assets of the store’s physical location
In the Absence of a Member of Management Authorized To:
• Open store Monday through Thursday only (on a as needed approved basis)
• Complete cash refunds for returned merchandise
• Complete employee purchase transactions
• Complete Cash Pay‐Outs (up to $25.00)
• Receive merchandise shipment
• Complete Morning deposits
• Current Associate in Good Standing
• Minimum High School education or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year retail experience, or equivalent education
• Must have flexible availability for store needs
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store team
• Ability to work in a fast‐paced and deadline‐oriented environment
• Must be able to perform all essential job functions identified in the “Shift Lead essential job functions”
