you will package and mark outgoing shipments in conformance with military, company or customer requirements and standards. Label and seal cartons, occasionally using steel strapping and weigh cartons for shipment. Exercise care in packing and shipping packages accurately to specifications. You will prepare bills of lading and delivery notes for products, parts and manual shippers for shipments following standard procedures or customer instructions. Handle routine contacts with express and freight agents and check and prepare shipping paperwork such as truck way bills and express receipts.

Enter shipping data into computer terminal including sales order number, date, packing slip number, method of shipment, and other related information.
Use terminal to make corrections and inquire about shipments and orders.
Use customer specific ASN (advanced Shipments Notification) programs, i.e., EXOSTAR, SCATS, etc.
Select best method of shipment by using freight tables.
Contact trucking or shipping firms to arrange transportation and routing when required by customer.
Works from weekly and monthly schedules.
Plans and maintains supply of packaging materials and plans prepackaging and preliminary work to expedite shipments.
Responsible for ordering bar code labels required for government orders and verifies information using electronic bar code reader.
Perform Monthly Compressed Gases Inventory.
Works with supervisor to improve present processes and procedures of packaging, and evaluating new methods and standards.
Maintain shipping records and posts metrics daily.
Back up receiving to ensure all packages are processed daily. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Operate lift truck in the course of daily activities
Communicate with Customer Service to solve shipping issues.
Operate various equipment such as computer terminals, printers and lift trucks.
Possess the ability to works with a minimum of direct supervisory attendance, but under guidelines previously established.
High School Graduate or GED equivalent education.
3 years minimum experience or equivalent as Shipper/Receiver
US Citizenship along with the ability to qualify for Secret Clearance.
Certification in Hazardous materials needed in addition to knowledge of methods used to ship material internationally. These requirements would require external training and on the job training will be provided.
5 years minimum experience as Shipper/Receiver.
