SUMMARY: Coordinates efforts within Shift and directs activity of Forklift Drivers to provide the safe transportation and storage of all ingredients, packaging and finished goods through the entire Warehouse. This position is for 3rd shift - M-F Midnight to 8:30 am and reports to the Inventory Control Supervisor.
Efficient Transportation & Handling of Finished Products and Raw Materials
Supports, monitors, and assigns daily tasks to hourly Forklift Driver(s), following the direction of the Inventory Control Supervisor.
Communicates with Strategic Supply Chain, QA, and Production regarding any issues that impact the timely receipt or transfer of materials as scheduled. Works with team to support resolution of any such issues.
Per established Standard Operating Procedures, receives vendor purchase orders, receives and transfers interplant product, locates product in storage locations, FIFO sequence.
Coordinates dock and trailer transfers with 3 rd party carriers and other Warehouse locations.
Accurately generates and follow Bills of Lading and Pick Lists and conducts supporting transactions in SAP to update Inventory.
Accurately enters materials received into SAP system.
Documents and addresses with Forklift Drivers errors in paperwork, procedures, or SAP transactions.
Loads and unloads trucks within standard time allocation, and following specified load distribution instructions.
Receives, verifies counts, and places raw materials into specified Warehouse storage locations.
Inspects all incoming and outbound freight and trailer conditions. Takes corrective action as required to ensure delivery of freight in acceptable condition by following Shipping and Receiving SOPs and documented Inspection procedures.
Safe Operation of Powered Industrial Lifts and Safe Handling of Palletized Materials During Warehousing
Trains, coaches, and observes Forklift Drivers and ensures that any Safety concerns are documented and addressed with employees. Recommends retraining or procedural changes to enhance safe and efficient operation.
Operates Forklifts and other equipment following BRF safety procedures. Maintains awareness of pedestrian traffic, dock and racking conditions at all times when operating equipment.
Inspects and takes necessary corrective actions to ensure that pallet condition and load stability of materials allow for safe handling.
Follows all BRF Safety procedures and GMPs
Condition of Warehouse and Facility Maintained to Audit standards and Food Safe Environment is Maintained
Inspects work area and maintains housekeeping to GMP and Food Safety standards at all times within shift.
Communicates to Forklift Drivers the requirements of internal and external customer expectations for Housekeeping standards and handling practices.
Assists as assigned in organization and cleaning of dock, rack storage areas, and facility. Reports to Supervision any deficiencies that cannot be immediately corrected
Reports and takes actions required to correct or rework any damaged materials.
Participates in internal audit programs and offers suggestions for improved operations.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of forklift related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be familiar with all BRF Warehouse SOPs.
Must be capable of performing all duties of Forklift Driver as required.
Forklift Driver License is required to operate minimum 3500 lb to 6500 lb electric sit down lift truck.
Basic computer skills and prior bar code experience. Must be proficient in SAP transactions required for Shipping and Receiving.
