DESCRIPTION

Gyrodata is looking for a Shop Supervisor to oversee the Mud Motor shop and supervise the Mud Motor Shop Technicians I, II, III and Senior.

DUTIES

Duties / Essential Functions

  • Supervise disassembly and cleaning of mud motors returning from the field and compliance with established re-stocking and tracking procedures
  • Supervise Motor Division Shop floor and manage work flow
  • Review all damaged motors
  • Inspect motors returning from the field and match tool to the corresponding job for invoicing or tracking in OASIS, as applicable
  • Coordinate with Logistics Department and Operations Departments as necessary to provide effective and efficient customer service
  • Inspect motors to verify compliance with job requirements before motors are shipped
  • Address any damages to motors and verify accuracy of invoice charge backs [TH Hill Inspection]
  • Supervise complete work order training for Shop Technicians
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure compliance with GD requirements and deadlines
  • Supervise maintenance of vices and perform preventive maintenance of fork lift and cranes
  • Oversee scheduling outgoing jobs and assign tasks accordingly
  • Serve as our technical expert for the Motor Division product line
  • Provide any input necessary to Product Line Manager and Senior Motor Engineer in order to increase assembly/disassembly efficiency, tool reliability, and reduce repair costs
  • Supervise motor assembly and bearing assembly servicing
  • Assist Product Line Manager in preparing failure and incident reports as required
  • Supervise safe forklift, bridge crane and jib crane operation
  • Supervise receiving new motor parts and following established stocking procedures
  • Supervise loading and unloading of trucks
  • Available to be on call during a 24 hour period every other week
  • Available to work weekends, holidays and during non-office hours as necessary
  • Supervise cleaning, painting, stenciling and prepping motors prior to shipping to a job
  • Supervise checking mud motor threads for damage, cleaning and buffing undamaged threads for re-use
  • Supervise operation and maintenance of the break-out machine, including greasing, checking oil levels, repairing small leaks, etc.
  • Supervise general shop duties
  • Supervise runner tasks as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Requirements

  • 5 years experience working with mud motors
  • At least 5 years of experience supervising shop technicians or as a lead shop hand
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Clean motor vehicle record
  • Ability to use a heat torch and other hand tools
  • Ability to work non-office hours, holidays and weekends as necessary
  • Ability to use a computer for accessing and sending e-mail, opening and revising documents, accessing internet and web-based Gyrodata, Inc. systems, including SharePoint, Agresso and ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
