Operate a bus or other university assigned vehicle on assigned route and schedule to provide safe and efficient transportation of students, faculty, and staff. Work involves driving for special assignments that may involve weekends and evenings; performing pre and post trip inspections of the bus or any other university assigned vehicle and reporting mechanical defects or failures to the Shuttle Service Supervisor; obeying all state and local traffic laws and university regulations while operating bus or any other university assigned vehicle; observing all safety regulations and standards; and creating a customer services oriented environment for passengers. Employee is responsible for completing all required reports, policing and securing the vehicle before leaving.
Employee must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Employee must have a valid North Carolina Class A or B Commercial Driver's license with a passenger endorsement. Employee must also have excellent communication skills and the ability to assist patrons entering and exiting the vehicle.
