There is nothing more rewarding than putting in a hard day’s work and having a good time doing it. The main objective to being a member of the Winter Park Ski Patrol is to assist in caring for injured guests at the resort and making the mountain more enjoyable.
You’ll have a great time skiing from trail check to evening sweep. You’ll perfect outdoor emergency skills, outdoor survival and avalanche skills, and make friends that will last a lifetime. You will be a member of one of the top patrols in the ski industry. Now is your opportunity to join a select group!
STEP 1: Ski Ability Assessment for 2013-2014 Season
Sunday, March 10 th or Saturday, March 16 th , 2013 - Pro and Volunteer Patrol
Saturday, March 9th or Sunday, March 17th - Junior Patrol
Alpine or telemark skis ONLY.
This test will be given on a variety of black diamond and mogul runs. This is a physically demanding assessment on steep, extreme terrain, on variable conditions. Advanced/Expert Skiers only. (Same test for employees or volunteers)
Registration is at 8:00am at WEST PORTAL STATION and the testing will be over around 1:00pm. No lunch break is provided. YOU MUST ATTEND ONE OF THE SESSIONS IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE 2013-2014 PATROL POSITIONS.
Cost is $20.00 ($15.00 with a Winter Park Season Pass or Rocky Mountain Superpass). Winter Park or Steamboat employees with a current employee pass or current NSP registration card pay $5.00.
Junior Patrol will have registration at 8:30am at WEST PORTAL STATION . **Parents will have a meeting at 9:00am in West Portal Station .**
STEP 2: Personal Interview
Upon passing ski ability test, candidates must have a personal interview in the fall of 2013.
