Develop and implement recruitment and training programs for foster/adoptive families that aid in the placement of children who are in agency custody, with an emphasis on recruitment and community relationship building. Conduct well written and accurate pre-placement assessments/home studies to assess the parenting capabilities of potential foster/adoptive parents to ensure the safety of potential foster children placed in the home. Competently and accurately complete the licensing process with the family within required time frame. Prepare foster family for placement and separation and provide ongoing counseling to alleviate family crises and/or improve parenting of children with behavioral and/or emotional problems. Thoroughly and timely document case information. Sharing after hours on-call duties with other staff is required.

Minimum Qualifications: MSW from an accredited school of social work or a BSW plus one year of Child Welfare experience or a BSW from the child Welfare Collaborative. A Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field, plus two years of relevant work experience. A valid NC driver’s license desired.

Salary: $38,674.00; Grade: 63
