Under general supervision of JFS Supervisor, JFS Manager or higher level administrator, provides essential functions of conducting in-depth case management reviews in the Food Assistant Program (FAP), Ohio Works First (OWF), and Medicaid (AB&D) programs. Will assist Workforce Development monitoring key metrics upon requirement.

Job Duties:

Will conduct in-depth case management reviews in the Food Assistant Program (FAP), Ohio Works First (OWF) and Medicaid (AB&D) programs. Will assist Workforce Development monitoring key metrics upon requirement.

Must maintain comprehensive knowledge on how public assistance programs operate including knowledge about: employment services; promoting job opportunities for public assistance recipients; determining eligibility for public assistance programs; computing budgets; verifying documents submitted to support public assistance requests; processing applications for public assistance; recipients rights, procedures, programs, policies and available services.

Enter all reviews in statistical databases. Educate staff on QI results and write articles for the QI newsletters. Represent the agency in state hearings (to include preparing the cases, attending state hearings, and presenting cases. Participate in direct service meetings as required. Administratively assist the JFS Aides in their absence including staffing the State Hearing Desk. In addition, may conduct any quality reviews assigned to the QI Economic Support Specialists (programs such as Prevention, Retention, and Contingency (PRC), Change Notices, New Hires, IEVS, CFCM and Child Care.

Perform customer service duties for customers and staff via telephone or in person relative to services available
Maintain records. Attend training sessions, meetings, seminars and workshops as necessary. Provide statistical data and reports on case management reviews conducted as requested by their supervisor. Will perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Class Requirements:

M.A.or M.S.in social services, human services, liberal arts or business related field plus 1 yr minimum experience as JFS Specialist I(or equivalent classification from another CDJFS)in Child Care, Food and Nutrition Benefits, Medicaid, OWF/TANF, Workforce Development or Workforce Investment Act programs –

OR–

B.A.or B.S.in social services, human services, liberal arts or business related field plus 3 yrs. minimum experience as JFS Specialist I(or equivalent classification from another CDJFS)in Child Care, Food and Nutrition Benefits, Medicaid, OWF/TANF, Workforce Development or Workforce Investment Act programs

Associates Degree in social services, human services, liberal arts or business related field plus 6 yrs. minimum experience as JFS Specialist I (or equivalent classification from another CDJFS) in Child Care, Food and Nutrition Benefits, Medicaid, OWF/TANF, Workforce Development or Workforce Investment Act programs
