The Home provides programs and services for these children and young adults in crisis:
*Medically fragile and terminally ill children who require 24-hour-a-day skilled nursing care.
*Those who require emergency care due to abuse, abandonment, neglect or are homeless; or who need foster care.
*To homeless, pregnant, or parenting teens, and their family members needing case management, education, parenting, and independent living skills.
*Children with autism & special needs.
*Young adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, are in crisis due to mental health or abuse, and to families who are struggling to maintain their children in their homes to provide stability and skills for self-sufficiency.
This position is on a Relief or "as needed" basis filling in for regular SSAs who are sick or on vacation. Must be flexible to meet department needs. Coverage needed on both weekdays and on weekends for first (7am-3pm) and second (3-11 pm) shifts.
Salary: $9.50 per hour; 10% shift differenital for 3-11 pm shift; $0.75 weekend differential
Must possess a high school education or its equivalent; two years post secondary education, with an emphasis in social work, psychology, education, or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
Must have, as a minimum, three (3) year of clerical/secretarial experience. Ability to type 55 words per minute and computer skills required; ability to use general office equipment is also required.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Shelter, Shelter Social Workers, and Shelter Management Staff through clerical support and direct services with residents as directed, and to work with the Receptionists to relieve them for breaks and vacations.
