Temporary, part-time positions for the 2013/14 academic year. Teach Social Work related courses; work closely with other faculty to develop the curriculum; assist with student recruitment; advise students; and participate in departmental, professional unit, and university activities. Course offerings are contingent upon sufficient enrollment.
Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in Social Work or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution; licensed in Social Work; and a minimum of one year of experience teaching Social Work. Qualifications include the completion of a successful interview. Additional qualifications: Ability to adapt to changing technologies that support teaching and learning; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); and the ability to teach, evaluate and advise students. Demonstration, through past accomplishments and behaviors, of the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission. Preferred: Doctorate in Social Work from a regionally accredited institution. Other conditions of employment are verification of all earned degrees through the receipt of original transcripts and an acceptable background check report.
Effective teaching skills are required. Effective communication and writing skills are also required. Work cooperatively with staff, faculty and administration. Appropriate use of electronic teaching technologies; ability to use software application programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail; and effective use of phone, and other office equipment. May be required to lift, stand, walk, reach with arms, etc.
