Tenure track Assistant Professor of Sociology with expertise in applied sociology/social work. Teaching responsibilities will include Introduction to Sociology, Social Work and Human Services, Deviance, and a mix of courses focused on social work, social welfare, and social policy consistent with the candidate’s areas of expertise. Service learning components may be included in courses. The normal load is six courses across a trimester system. However, faculty usually supervise senior projects which count for one of the courses. Position starts Fall of 2013. A PhD. in sociology, social work, or closely related field is required, and experience in social work/human services preferred. Successful candidates must present evidence of teaching effectiveness and an active research program.
