Academy of Art University has embarked on a major automation program for its back office functions and has chosen Workday as one of the platforms. We are looking for a bright, thoughtful developer to create and maintain the Workday interfaces to other University information systems and to develop and enhance reports and dashboards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Workday cloud application and data
Responsible for the security, development, and maintenance of integrations/interfaces and reports for the Workday application
Design, develop, document, test, install, and maintain interfaces between Workday and other applications
Design, develop, document, test, and maintain production reports and executive dashboards.
Report and interface development will use proprietary Workday Report Writer and development platforms (EIB and Studio).
Monitor and participate in Workday Community discussions as needed. Escalate issues to Workday Customer support
Recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
Monitor data integrity and consistency between Workday and other information systems
Evaluate business and reporting requirements and translate into technical specifications for development
Create, manage, and update integration test plans (Unit and System).
Responsible for performing Unit testing and participating in System testing during 3X yearly updates
Coordinate closely with Business Process Managers from HR and Finance
Provide Workday integration production support and 3rd level application user support.
Workday experience preferred, particularly in the HR and Expenses modules. Workday classes will be available to fill any gaps in experience
2-5 years experience with commercial report writing software
Knowledge of SQL is desirable
Experience with Web application development or SaaS (Software as a Service)
Solid spoken and written communication skills
Excellent design and development skills
Ability to effectively analyze the root cause of a problem
Must be able to transfer knowledge to super users and operations management
Experience in fit / gap analysis, functional design, functional testing, and end-to-end integration testing.
Interest in data analysis is a plus
BS degree in computer science or similar technical field or equivalent work experience
XML training or experience is desirable
