We are looking for a great programmer with strong design and problem solving skills to help us develop the service behind these world class products. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and self-driven, have the ability to work with teams across multiple projects, possess effective communication skills to interact successfully with developers, program managers, test, other team SDE’s. You will help us design the server building blocks for the world’s leading instant messaging and notification services, that bring Windows 8 to life (while respecting battery life), and enable the next-generation of real-time connections at massive (100’s of millions of users) Internet scale. You will have opportunity to work with a great product team on challenging problems such as new initiatives that utilize messaging and presence technologies to accommodate notification delivery, mobile devices, social networking, web applications and other new areas, and improving overall system performance, capacity and reliability.
Qualified candidates will have 7 or more years of relevant systems experience and should have demonstrated technical excellence in producing efficient and maintainable code. Successful candidates will be versatile programmers, possessing trouble-shooting skills, debugging proficiency, and the ability to work independently and collaborate with other members of the team. Candidates must be able to develop software with C#, C++ and Microsoft Development Tools. Experience with large scale systems/protocols (TCP/IP, SIP, XMPP, HTTP, database systems) is preferred, but not required. A B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related field is required.
