The Perceptual Computing Group (PerC) of Intel Corporation is looking to fill the position of a Software Engineer. In this role, the candidate will work on the definition, development, and prototyping of new interactive usages on Intel-based Client platforms. The successful candidate will have prior hands-on experience with demonstrated results in the areas of computer vision, gesture/action recognition, design, architecture, implementation, and optimization of emerging applications, user experiences and human-computer interactions such as touch/speech and gesture/face recognition, and related fields. The candidate will work closely with internal and external collaborators to develop and implement compelling new usages on Intel-based computing platforms. Besides technical expertise, the ability to work in a highly matrixed and collaborative corporate environment is required. The person must have demonstrated strong drive to accomplish high-impact results, setting tough goals for himself/herself and executing to it, energetic and positive spirits taking pride in achievements, and straightforwardness in dealing with others in a direct and productive manner. Excellent communication skills are required.
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
C/C++ programming skills, and one or more of Java, C#, openFrameworks, Processing, Unity, Python, Matlab
Familiar with one or more of the following tools OpenCV, OpenGL, OpenCL, DirectX
Experience on the PC architecture and the software stack (Apps/UI, OS, API, driver)
Experience with algorithm porting and acceleration on one or more of SIMD, Multi-core processors, GPUs , DSPs and ISPs
Algorithm R&D experience: computer vision, video analytics, data compression
Hardware prototyping experience: microcontroller programming, mechanism design
User Interface design and development experience specifically human computer interaction and user experience
Experience in R&D of developing innovative new algorithms and features for graphics and media applications
Experience with 2D and 3D computer graphics: 3D modeling, computer animation, rendering
