Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
This individual will work with other engineers in the design, development, and test of real-time embedded and applications software for next generation subscriber radio concepts within the CTO Advanced Subscriber Technology team.
These projects include research of next generation technologies, detailed analysis of new and existing solutions, and implementation of prototype designs for customer feedback and eventual product development.
Emphasis will be placed on worldwide solutions for all open standards utilizing multiple concept designs, architectures, and simulation platforms.
Plan and manage own or subsection development activities within project schedule.
Define and communicate program/design risks to management; identifying problems, proposing and verifying solutions.
Perform overall system integration, design, and test/evaluation efforts towards technology feasibility.
Ability to work well in a team environment
Experience in embedded high-level object-oriented software coding practices (C/C++, Java), both real-time and high-level (Smartphone) operating systems, and software applications and driver development. Applicants must have a working knowledge of C and C++.
Knowledge of mobile device emerging technologies a plus, including Smartphone architectures, geolocation technologies, camera/videos, touch screen displays, sensors, public and private WANs/PANs.
Bachelors Degree required; major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science preferred (Master's degree is a plus).
Demonstrated solid theoretical and practical software system design experience.
The candidate must be team-focused and highly self-motivated with a desire to explore new approaches and technologies in a fast-paced software/hardware development group. Experience with Rational Rose Real-Time is a plus.
