Develop and test various parts of the Altiscale PaaS: data management, management tools, user portals, enterprise services
Develop APIs for customer/partner integration
Work with Product Management to understand and business workflows
Provide customer support as part of a small agile team focused on delighting customers and scaling the service
Collaborate with Research and Infrastructure Engineering to deliver secure and reliable services.
Expert level proficiency in Java servlets and/or Ruby
Proficiency with Amazon AWS and/or similar cloud platforms
Proficiency with Linux and open source tools/platforms
Experience building large-scale applications and services
Sound knowledge of SQL & No-SQL databases
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, particularly in a "cloud" environment
Experience with agile development methodologies
Knowledge of industry standards and trends
Excellent written/oral communication skills
Obsessive about great engineering
Developer of enterprise-grade cloud application and/or platform software
Understanding of schedulers, workload management, availability, scalability and distributed data platforms a plus
5+ years of experience
Advanced degree in computer science and engineering (or equivalent)
