ViaSat’s NMS/EMS development team is seeking a mid level software engineer to help us build cutting edge Network Management System (NMS) and Element Management System (EMS) software to monitor, configure, and optimize performance of ViaSat’s next generation of satellite broadband networks and service offerings. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, code, and test n-tier NMS/EMS application features using a variety of tools and languages, as well as participate in team task planning and estimation exercises at the beginning of each release cycle. You will also meet directly with end users to collect and document requirements for new features and software. Additionally, you will participate in on-call production support rotation. Experience/Skills Required Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in a technical discipline. · Up to 10% travel. · US Citizenship or Permanent Resident. · S/W Development exp. · GUI/Web/Front End Development. · Networking background.

- Objected orient analysis and design skills and ability to use UML to model OO systems and software. · Experience with any object oriented language such as Python, Java, C++. · SQL and RDBMSs (any of Oracle, MySQL, DB2, etc.) and ORM layers (Hibernate, Django, etc.). · Web / thin / rich client user interface design and coding (HTML, CSS, GWT, etc.). · Networking concepts and devices – TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, hubs, routers, switches · Linux or Unix like environments, including basic administration and shell scripting.
