Hanger, Inc. (HGR), a leader in the healthcare field of Orthotics and Prosthetics has an opening for a junior level NextGen Template Developer to support their enterprise rollout of an Electronic Health Records & Practice Management System. This is a professional position with primary responsibility for template development in the NextGen EHR system. Tasks for this position will include full SDLC activities to include design, development, testing, and ongoing enhancements and maintenance.
Design, create, modify, and maintain templates and documents within the NextGen EHR system
Troubleshoot issues within NextGen EHR templates and/or documents as needed
Write SQL stored procedures to interact with NextGen templates as required
Collaborate with business SMEs and technology departments to define deliverables and develop solutions that are reusable across the enterprise
Produce written deliverables as required to support development, system testing and implementation activities
Production & implementation support for NextGen EHR users
Analyze current and potential templates for conversions and product integration scenarios
Support future EHR product and/or template upgrades and software releases
Ensure SOX, HIPAA, and ITIL compliance
Support Systems/Business Analysts within the team
Provide EHR support to Quality Assurance team
1+ year(s) experience with GUI-based forms development (e.g. drag & drop) utilizing IF/THEN constructs and Boolean logic.
1+ year(s) experience creating forms, documents, or workflow using tools/utilities within an ERP or Practice Management system
1+ year(s) experience developing SQL code in a SQL Server environment
Understanding of physical and logical database layouts
Experience as a participant in full life cycle implementations with an understanding of all aspects of an implementation project including, but not limited to, planning, analysis and design, configuration, development, conversions, system testing, cutover and production support.
Must be able to function independently, or as a team member, and have exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and able to correlate business issues to technical solutions
Ability to complete assignments on time with high quality
Any experience with the NextGen EHR/EPM system or any other practice management system is helpful
Healthcare systems experience (Revenue Cycle Management, Practice Management, Outcomes Assessment, Clinical)
Strong PC skills with a working knowledge Microsoft Office suite, with strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Vision.
B.S. or B.A. in computer science, information systems, or a related degree preferred. Relevant experience with non-analytical degree or equivalent professional training may be substituted.
