The SQAE Level I provides an independent, objective view of the software quality as evidenced through software testing and identification of software defects. A SQAE Level I tests to ensure that the software meets the business and technical requirements that guided its design and development. The SQAE Level I represents Quality Assurance throughout the entire development life cycle.

Job Description:
A SQAE I tests to ensure that the software:
Meets the business and technical requirements that guided its design and development

Works as expected

Can be implemented with the same characteristics

Analyze specifications and user stories

Research pertinent information related to the assigned scope of work

Design and write test cases

May identify test cases that are suitable for automation

May develop automation test scripts

Execute manual and automated test cases

Identify defects and questionable functions; manage defects through to closure

Identify deviations from coding and other standards and inconsistencies across programs

Prepare own schedule based on business priorities

Learn and stay current on NG policies, procedures and standards; abide to established standards and processes

May be involved in configuration management

Learn appropriate NextGen Healthcare products

Required Skills:
> 3 years software testing, information technology, or related experience.

Knowledgeable in testing methods and standards

Knowledge of SCRUM/Agile methodologies

Knowledge of database management system(s)

Knowledge of MS operating systems, and basic scripting and programming

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Strong team player

Good organization skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently

Desired Skills:
Healthcare information systems background (front- or back-office )

Quality Assurance experience in Healthcare IT

Practice Management and EDI transaction experience

Relational database experience

Experience with web technologies

Understands software product lifecycle and the role that SQE plays in ensuring quality and safety of software

Required Education (including certifications):
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Management Information System or a related field
