Job Title: Solar Prop-Gen Specialist

Reports To: Inside Sales Manager

Department: Step 3 Inside Sales, Solar

FLSA Status: Non - Exempt

Location: Boston, MA

Summary of Role: The Solar Prop-Gen Specialist will have several responsibilities related to the solar qualification process, but the primary functions will be to: 1) Design solar systems with Google SketchUp for pre-qualified homes prior to an in-home visit with a solar sales advisor, and 2) Calculate financial production, margin, and customer savings to confirm that the solar system meets appropriate considerations.

Responsibilities :
  • Work through the daily appointments scheduled on the solar calendar, with the expectation being that we are working 2-3 days ahead
  • Affirm that the information we have in the Sales Force database approves solar installation
  • Evaluate the solar potential of the home considering roof area, roof type, pipes, shading, azimuth, pitch, & trenching, and act as bottom-line for solar raters in difficult cases
  • Design solar system according to electrical usage using Google SketchUp
  • Double check the system design ensuring that all of the parameters are accurate
  • Calculate financial production, margin, and customer savings via our proposal tool
  • Make final decision concerning whether NSL should move ahead with the proposal
  • Make adjustments as needed appropriate to changes in the sales advisor status, and other customer-specific design issues
  • Work Tuesday through Saturday with ability to be ‘on call’ during Sundays
Qualifications:
  • Able to work comfortably in Google SketchUp, MS Excel, and Sales Force
  • Able to learn to use our proposal generation tool effectively
  • Able to use Pictometry and other software relating to solar rating
  • Able to stay focused and work in an organized and diligent fashion
  • Able to adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to effectively implement the outlined process
  • Proven ability to highlight improvements to the process outside core scope
  • Able to communicate effectively with team members on overlapping responsibilities
  • Effective communicative action with management
  • Works well with Step 3 Inside Sales team concerning scheduled visits and fast-tracking appointments
  • Meet minimum expectations concerning mathematical abilities
  • Able to learn new skills in a timely manner
  • Able to work with complex processes and make precise decisions based on information
