Reporting to the Solutions CIO, the Solutions Product Manager Energy Management will lead design and development of commercial software products, working closely with our Solutions Center, Engineering, Commercial, and other GE and purchased service teams, Multi-generation product plans will be maintained and executed to deliver quality, industry leading solutions to demanding schedules and customer requirements using contemporary technologies and delivery methodologies.

Essential Responsibilities
An Application Architect will be required to perform many tasks during the creation of a solution for the business including project management, technical architecture design, physical design, technology strategy, managing contractors, and budgets and will play a key role in engaging may parts of the information technology staff and peers to insure a successful rollout of an application solution. In addition, you will:
  • Develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals
  • Be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives
  • Serve as technical expert responsible for the design and implementation of an assigned applications area(s), which supports client and/or business objectives and plans
  • Assist and/or lead in the definition of systems solutions to functional problems, conforming to established system architecture standards and practices
  • Produce documented application frameworks or architectures
  • Participate in business process evaluation / improvement activities, requirements gathering, system analysis, system design, software / hardware applicability studies and system implementation and executes projects based on these activities
  • Provide input into the technology plan for the IT organization, & ensures that plans for their assigned applications integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure
  • Advise management on application and supporting technology purchases and on future projects or environment upgrades / modifications
  • Participate and/or lead in the analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of information technology solutions for business processes
  • Support, advise, assist guide and resolve problems for client users
  • Work as a business partner with client users to evaluate/improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions
  • Conform to system architecture standards and practices and work with outsourced suppliers as required to keep up to date with enabling technologies
  • Participate in the evaluation / implementation of third party software solutions

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience of application design & architecture

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Experience using web services, ESB, relational databases, Java, J2EE
  • Experience leading small teams and development projects
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-site development organization
  • Highly innovative in working through difficult problems and obstacles
  • Familiarity working in Agile development environment
  • Experience writing automated test harnesses and scripts
  • Knowledge of current information technologies
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end SDLC & infrastructure architecture
  • Technical project management over enterprise solutions
  • Knowledge of architecture and design patterns
