Responsible for assisting servers, captain & culinary staff in the areas of wines, champagnes, and all other beverages. Knowledge of how to offer a proper wine service. Wine Stewards need to have a passion and a sense of palate as well as a desire to perfect and develop this experience for the menu that is prepared by the culinary staff..
Wine Stewards need to have an outgoing personality that would create an expert, yet friendly interaction with guests. Must also be able to interrelate with the rest of the restaurant staff, including managers and culinary staff. Exceptional people skills are a must. . This position requires someone who takes initiatives and is willing to go the extra mile to satisfy the guest. Also, must be able to multitask, be reliable, and have the ability to work in a very fast paced and continuously changing environment.
To take wine/champagne orders, as well as to give the entire wine/champagne/cocktail service to guests in the
restaurant or bar.
To do beverages inventories, including wine, champagne, and liquors.
To check for cleanness of wine lists, and glassware.
Enrolled or seeking greater knowledge of wine.
Prior restaurant experience desired
Licenses or Certifications:
TIPS training a plus
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance per Biltmore standards.
