Work with Key Domestic and International vendors, Food Merchandising associates and Self-Manufacturing teams to increase share growth, by sourcing materials or finished goods to deliver Meijer Own Brand products as good as or better than national brands as well as fresh (unbranded) product.
The Non-Foods Consumables area includes: Pets, Drug Store, Health & Beauty Care, Paper Goods, and Over the Counter Drug.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide domestic and global product sourcing expertise to the team and the entire organization utilizing a skill set that includes sourcing strategy development, vendor identification/evaluation, price discovery, risk management, and on-going price management.
Utilize strategic sourcing methodology to develop source recommendations to the merchandising team through total cost of ownership analysis that will drive bottom line financial success.
Provide raw material and/or finished goods sourcing support for all Meijer Own Brands including 1
Label, Markets of Meijer, Gold, Organic and Naturals.
Work collaboratively with merchants, quality assurance, packaging development, and the own brand team to deliver best in class own brand solutions.
Will not have P&L responsibility but must have a record of solid financial success in developing cost saving and cost avoidance opportunities.

Four year college degree in relevant area required (Procurement, Product Development) MBA desired
4 to 6 years experience in product sourcing domestically and globally
The ideal candidate will have been a Sourcing Manager for a food manufacturing, food service distributor, or retail company and have 4 to 6 years of experience with steady progression to positions of increased responsibility.
Must have a successful track record sourcing raw materials/finished product both domestically and globally.
Must have successful track record sourcing commodity products and understand the marketplace trends/dynamics
Must be aware of current trends in the industry, and be passionate about food
Proven ability to develop sourcing strategies for raw material/commodity and finished products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive thinker and problem solver
Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
Computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
